The practice

Breath, body, mind

Breathe in, breathe out

Different kinds of breath work that help little ones learn to settle and calm their nervous system.

Move your body

Playful poses that help kids learn where their body is in space, and build balance and strength.

Mindfulness

Practical tools for real life — calming big feelings, noticing, listening, and being kind.

Why movement and mindfulness matter for littles

  1. 1

They build body awareness and motor skills

Poses like “tree,” “cat-cow,” and “downward dog” work on balance, coordination, strength, and flexibility. Little ones are still learning to control their bodies, and yoga turns that into play.

  2. 2

They give early tools for big feelings

Toddlers and littles often feel strong emotions before they can name them. Breathing like “smell the flower, blow out the candle” gives them one small thing to do when upset, and a cue adults can use when a meltdown is starting.

  3. 3

They help with focus and listening

Holding a pose, copying a movement, or noticing sounds in a quiet moment asks kids to pay attention for a little while. That builds the attention and self-control they’ll need in preschool and beyond.

  4. 4

    They make calm-down routines easier

A few stretches and slow breaths before nap or bedtime signal that it’s time to wind down. Over time, the routine itself helps them relax.

  5. 5

    They build connection and confidence

Yoga is screen-free time to move, connect with friends, and build confidence. Nailing a pose or roaring like a lion is a quick win.

Your teacher

Hi, I'm Lisa

I'm an RYT-200 yoga teacher and pranayama (breath work) teacher in Eagle, Idaho, and I've been practicing and teaching for more than 20 years. I'm also a mom to three littles, ages 2, 4, and 6, so I know how short attention spans can be and how big feelings can get. My classes connect mind, body, and breath, with lots of giggles, some calm, and simple tools your child can use at home, at school, and everywhere in between.

Questions, answered

What age is this for?

School classes are for ages 2–6, and studio classes at Uplift Yoga Studio are for ages 4–10 — both with a playful, low-pressure pace that suits short attention spans.

What should we bring?

At school, mats, blankets, and props are all provided. At Uplift Yoga Studio, bring a mat or rent one there — all other props are provided. Comfy clothes and bare feet are all your child needs.

What happens in a class?

Every class blends breath work, movement, and a practical mindfulness moment your child can use in daily life.

What if my child doesn't want to join in?

That's completely okay. Littles are welcome to watch, wiggle, or join when they're ready. There's no pressure to get a pose 'right.'

Do parents stay for studio classes?

You're welcome to stay and watch or drop off. Just let me know at check-in.

How does signup work for school classes?

School classes are currently offered at Eagle Early Learning Center. If your child attends, send me a message and I'll get them enrolled. If you'd love classes at your child's school, let me know or have your school director reach out.

How do party bookings work?

A 50% deposit that isn't refundable holds your date. You can reschedule once for free with 7 or more days' notice.

Are you CPR certified?

Yes. I'm CPR certified, and safety comes first in every class.
